1.Great information on short selling!
(St. Louis, MO) January 7, 2005 - 5.0/5 stars
I usually like to buy stocks but sometimes there just aren't good opportunities; and there is just not a lot of solid information on short selling. This little book at a great price gives you everything you need. This is a solid buy in my view.
2.O'NEIL DOES IT AGAIN!
(Pittsburgh,PA United States) January 7, 2005 - 5.0/5 stars
I must say I am never disappointed in William O'Neil. Most of the books on short selling are too complicated and high level. I thought his visual approach was brillant. The market is in need of more books with... read full review
3.A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words!
(Pittsburgh,PA United States) January 5, 2005 - 5.0/5 stars
Having had the rare opportunity to actually manage money for Bill O'Neil, I must say this book is extremely well done. The fantastic examples in this book are not only very well selected, but provide one with... read full review
4.Will Lose Respect for the Author.....
(Rolla, MO United States) July 15, 2005 - 2.0/5 stars
This book, unfortunately, is perhaps a mockery of the author's reputation. The first few pages (Part 1 and Part 2 - each may be about 10 pages or so) talk about when to short in very abstract sense and then the mechanics... read full review
5.Nothing new, plenty of charts
(Detroit, MI) January 11, 2005 - 2.0/5 stars
I used to be a big IBD fan in the nineties. But during the bear market I grew up and learned the lessons the hard way as the writer is too bullish too often. I was disappointed that the writer is just trying to profit from... read full review
6.Disappointed
(intertrader) January 14, 2005 - 2.0/5 stars
TA is only as useful as the person who interpretate in real time. However, this book is mostly of hindsights. It is still ok for $13, though.
7.Short this book (it shorts you)!
(Atlanta, Ga USA) January 3, 2005 - 1.0/5 stars
I am a big fan of O'Neil, subscribing to Investors Business Daily as well as the DailyCharts website. I had hoped to get some valuable insights into short selling but I did not. This book did not cost much, but it... read full review
8.don't buy this book
(phoenix, az) March 19, 2005 - 1.0/5 stars
After reading about 10 pages of very basic info, the author has 100+ pages of stock charts. Before each stock takes a dive, the author puts a red arrow and says "short sell here." what a genius? I spent a total of 10 minutes with this book. Very disappointing.
9.Extremely Disappointing
(Providence, RI USA) February 15, 2005 - 1.0/5 stars
William O'Neil is perhaps the one individual responsible for my development as a trader and investor. I consider How to Make Money in Stocks to be one of the most valuable books on stock trading. I cannot say the same... read full review
10.For $13 you will not learn how to make money
(Boston, MA United States) January 15, 2005 - 1.0/5 stars
After reading this book I understood that this guy wants your subscription to Investor Business Daily. If you are serious about trading dig out Toby Crabel or Linda Rascke . They are real money managers, not paper salesmen.
