House passes $290 billion boost to debt limit

The House on Wednesday narrowly passed a $290 billion increase to the amount of debt the Treasury is allowed to have.

Currently, the debt ceiling is set at $12.104 trillion, and if the Senate passes the House-approved increase, it would rise to $12.394 trillion.
