Over the weekend, the Senate approved housing bailout legislation that's primarily designed to help troubled homeowners and slow the rate of foreclosures.

But the legislation, which President Bush is expected to sign this week, also includes provisions that could help families who are in no danger of losing their homes.

If you think the housing bailout bill will benefit only troubled homeowners, you may miss out on a windfall.

A congressional proposal to have the government help homeowners refinance mortgages they can no longer afford will only help a small fraction of those who are at risk of losing their homes.
