Business agility is the buzz phrase the leadership at Pillar Technology likes to use to describe its consulting IT services.

Finding ways to streamline that product has allowed the Brighton-based firm to hire at quite a fast pace.

The 14-year-old firm has hired 20 people over the last year, rounding its staff out to 83 employees, 13 independent contractors, and six interns.

It has 30 open positions right now and expects to keep up that pace in 2011.

Despite millions of unemployed job seekers desperate for work, many open positions are languishing unfilled. The reason?

Not enough candidates.

Reports say the current head of Fannie Mae might head TARP, one of several open positions at the Treasury Department that it seems no one is willing or able to fill.
